Portage Community church is committed to operating as the body of Christ and reaching our community with the love of Jesus. We believe that this happens in the form of outreach, always looking for ways to serve and provide for people’s basic needs throughout our community, Johnstown, and surrounding areas.
Below are a few ways you can help us bless our community today.
COMMUNITY CLOSET
An ongoing outreach that has had a great impact in our area is our Community Closet. This is a clothing outreach that operates in our church’s house strictly on donations and provides clothing and hygiene items to anyone in need free of charge.
The closet is open the last Saturday of every month. Please spread the word about this! We have so many nice items & want to give to those who need them. We are still taking donations as well – The Closet is always in need of donated toiletries, cleaning supplies, and gently used casual clothes and shoes if you have the ability to buy some or donate.
LODGE RUN COLLECTION
As our community continues to collect items for Lodge Run, PCC is in charge of toilet paper & paper towels. We’ll be collecting items at the church for all who wish to give.
CARD MINISTRY
Lisa Lucas is continuing to bless our community through the card ministry. If you know someone who you think needs encouragement, prayer or who you would like us to bless through sending a card, please text Lisa at (814) 525-8765.
HELPING HANDS
The last Sunday of every month we will be going to Helping Hands after church to celebrate birthdays & give birthday gifts to the residents. Anyone is welcome to join along!
